Sexuality Test: What is Your Sexuality?

by | May 4, 2022 | LGBTQ, RELATIONSHIPS, SEXUALITY

A person contemplates taking a sexuality test.

People have started pushing back on the previously established norms of sexual identity by questioning two main dichotomies male/female and heterosexual/homosexual. The questioning presents a continual drive for the change of tide from sexual repression to sexual liberation. This begs the question, what exactly are we talking about when we say sexual identity? Read ahead and take this sexuality test for clarity.

It’s Normal to be Confused About Your Sexuality

Sexuality has become a major topic of conversation as an integral part of identity. Not that it wasn’t talked about before, yet nowadays it has become centered in conversations. The exploration of sexual identity has contributed to reconceptualizing of the accepted norms with the introduction of new terms more commonly used than before.

Human sexuality is a tricky concept to capture in terms and so is the emotional connection to the sexual identity we assert. We have a genuine desire to understand ourselves as well as others. Therefore, the motivation to understand and categorize drives the conviction to an identity. Sexual identities are comprised of gender identities, sexual orientation, and our conceptualization of ourselves in relationships with others.

Sexuality Test: What is Your Sexuality?

In efforts to obtain a quick snapshot of what comprises your sexual identity, there are two sections of questions related to your sexual orientation, how you experience sexual attraction to others, and ways you express yourself in relationships with others. Your sexual identity goes into various aspects of your identity and how you view yourself as a sexual being.

Sexual Orientation Test:

Sexual orientation is defined as the attraction to others romantically and/or sexually, and is not necessarily tied to sexual behavior. For the parts of us that like order and organization. Sexual Identity on a Spectrum

Part of what we love about labels is they provide clarity and organization. Sometimes its not so clear, and a sexuality quiz can help. Sometimes it’s easy because you know: “I feel sexual attraction towards __________.” and its finite. There is comfort and confidence in being certain. The part we hate about labels is that it can feel as if it boxes people into committing to something as a constant continual state of being.

As you can tell from the questions above there is room to have more than one response to these questions. This is an encouragement to be curious about your sexual identity as an avenue to explore who you are as an ever-changing sexual being.
